Scrumptious!

Only three things will take place this evening. Cooking, baking and New Moon. Should be a VERY exciting night.:) Above are the absolutely WONDERFUL pumpkin chocolate chip muffins that one of my best friends used to make in college. She gave me the recipe only a couple months ago and I've already made them twice. Tonight will be the third.:) I feel like its going to become a tradition... enjoying pumpkin chocolate chip muffins every Thanksgiving morning. Thanks Shuga.:) And to cap off an evening of wonderfulness, we are going to New Moon!!! It was Eric's idea - I swear!!!:)

How would you like having 85lbs pinning you up against the counter?

Thats Ellen's new thing. We haven't figured out if its a I'm-being-protective-and-therefore-I-will-lean-on-you-with-all-my-weight-to-make-sure-no-one-comes-in-between-us lean or the I'm-needy-and-want-attention-right-now lean or the I-like-to-be-annoying-and-get-in-the-way-and-actually-it-just-makes-me-feel-like-I'm-Alpha-when-I-can-pin-you-up-against-the-cabinets-and-you-can't-do-anything-about-it lean. I mean, all she is doing is resting her entire frame against my legs, as if she just got bored of holding her own weight therefore she needs a break. Its pretty amusing. She does is primarily to me, but every once in a while to Eric as well. I always laugh when she comes sauntering over and then just goes in, leaning her entire body on my legs. I mean what else could you do when you look down and see a face like that??

Thunder Game

Eric and I went to a Thunder Basketball game this past weekend with some of our college kids. It was our first professional game here in Oklahoma City and we were up against the L.A. Flippers. We lost by just a couple points but it was neck and neck the whole time. Carol, Sarah and I were the only girls and we kept each other company with all the guys.

Pictures by Rebekah Murray

These pictures were taken in downtown Leesburg, VA during our visit in October. The weather was PERFECT and the leaves were turning a perfect shade of orange, yellow and red. We had so much fun with Rebekah. To look at her other pictures visit her website at www.rebekahjmurray.com. She is worth every penny.

This tree was GORGEOUS! Man, I miss Virginia in all its fall beauty.
In Shoe's Coffee Shop. Cute little place in Leesburg, VA. There was a wall chalkboard that we drew on. Such a fun idea!:)

Say cheese!

Here it is ladies and gentlemen! We just ordered a Nikon D40 - and I'm pumped!!! We have been saving for the past couple months and are finally able to purchase it. Its amazing what a budget does... I felt no remorse or "ummm, are we sure we can afford this? I mean, I know we have the money, but do we have the money for THIS?" We found the deal online that we had been waiting for, had exactly the right about of money in our "camera" account, with actually $2.92 leftover.:) So get ready for new and improved pics! I am hoping to start taking photography lessons in January.

Owl City was here!

Oh my gosh if you've never heard of Owl City - you have been missing out. The "band" consists of 3 people, the lead singer, Adam Young, a girl who does some back up vocals and a drummer. All the music comes from these "keyboards" or synthesizers or whatever. Its a very electronic sound - and its AMAZING. I call it happy music. Anyway, they came to OU for a free concert and I went with one of my Biblestudy girls. They're have just really gotten really big with their new song, "Fireflies" but I've been listening to them for a while before that, and Rachel and John, have been listening to him for years. He was SO great live - it was like he was just having so much fun singing and there weren't 3000 people singing along with him.Lauren and I waited in line for 1 1/2 hrs and then sat in the stadium for another hour waiting for them to come on. It was so worth it. We were excited to see Owl City but also excited about our matching gray nail polish.:) It was fun go with her.

A for effort

See those little specks on the pizza? Thats basil from a basil plant I grew from seedling. And thats the only thing it made me. Its my own fault - I'm not a very patient person (a huge flaw in my character I am well aware) and I didn't baby the plant the way little love ferns must need. Below is the sad little basil plant I "took care of" and "grew" all summer long. Oh well, at least we had fresh basil on our margarita pizza. It was yummy and now the plant is in the trash. I promise to try harder next summer. Eric will be home.... therefore, the plants will actually get watered regularly.:/
